Yes. The SIA close protection licence is a separate qualification with its own training and assessment, and it is not the same as a security guarding or door supervisor licence. Anybody offering close protection on a guarding licence is not licensed for the work. Our CP officers hold the correct licence and you are welcome to see it.
As discreet as the job allows, and that is nearly always the brief. In most assignments the point is that nobody looking at the situation can tell that anybody is working, because visible protection can attract exactly the attention you are trying to avoid. Where visible deterrence is what you want instead, that is a different plan and we will build it that way deliberately.
As much as you can give, because the planning is where the value is. A day or two is enough for a straightforward meeting or a single venue. A multi-day requirement, travel, or anything with an unfamiliar location wants a week so the route and the venue can be looked at properly beforehand. Urgent requests are worth a call regardless, because we would rather turn one down than have you go without.

The two jobs are different: event security is looking after a venue and a crowd, and close protection is looking after one person inside it. Where both are needed we make sure the roles are clear so nobody assumes somebody else is handling it.
No. Most of the close protection work in this country is unremarkable and private: a business owner after a specific incident, somebody dealing with a persistent individual, a manager going to a difficult meeting. You do not need to be well known to have a genuine reason, and there is no minimum requirement to have a conversation about it.
