Every officer holds a current SIA licence and is vetted before they set foot on your site. You can ask to see the licence of the person standing on your gate and you will get it.

Yes, every one of them, and we will not put anybody on a site without a current licence. The licence covers the individual rather than the company, so it is worth knowing that you are entitled to see it. Ask the officer on your gate and they will show you. Anybody who cannot produce one should not be there, whoever they are working for.

The most common patterns are a night shift from the end of the working day to first thing, a weekend package covering Friday evening to Monday morning, and full 24 hour cover on sites where materials are landing constantly or the public are close by. Christmas and Easter shutdowns are the other regular one, and those get booked well in advance because everybody wants the same fortnight.
They do different jobs. A guard controls access, deals with people face to face, checks deliveries and can physically walk into the far corner of a site. Cameras see everywhere at once, never get tired and cost a fraction of a wage. Most of the sites we cover well use both: cameras across the whole footprint and an officer at the gate during the hours when people and materials are moving. We will tell you honestly which mix your site needs.
Patrols to an irregular pattern, checks the perimeter, the stores, the cabins, the plant and the fuel, keeps the gate secure, logs anybody who turns up, deals with trespassers by challenging and reporting rather than by getting into a fight, and calls in anything that needs a response. The report you get in the morning tells you what happened, including the nights when the answer is nothing, which is the answer you want.
Often, yes. A break-in on a Thursday and cover needed for Friday night is a call we get regularly and can usually fill. What we will not do is promise a shift we cannot properly staff, because a guard who has been pulled off another site after a full day is no use to anybody. Call and you will get a straight answer either way.
Yes. Construction is the bulk of what we do, but the same officers cover commercial premises, vacant buildings, car parks, yards and events. The requirement is worked out at the survey, because a guard at a gate house on a distribution yard is a different brief to an officer on an empty building with no lighting.
