Booked visits to your home or business while you are away, at times that vary, by a licensed officer who actually walks round the property. Doors and windows checked, post moved off the mat, bins put out and brought in, a light or a blind moved so the place does not look shut up, and a report after each visit so you know all is well without having to think about it from the airport.

It is booked to suit the property and how long you are away. Every other day suits most houses for a fortnight, daily makes sense where there is post, deliveries or something that needs doing, and a business closed over Christmas is often two visits a day. The times are deliberately varied so the visits are not a pattern anybody can read.
The outside first: doors, windows, the garage, any outbuildings and the boundary, looking for anything forced, open or interfered with. Then inside where we hold keys, which means looking for a leak, a burst, a tripped consumer unit or a heating failure as well as a break-in. Frozen pipes and failed freezers do more damage to empty houses in January than burglars do.

Held keys mean we can go in, check for water and heating problems, move post out of view and deal with something small before it becomes a claim. Keys are stored coded in a controlled safe, never labelled with your address, and every use is logged.
You get a call, not an email you will read next week. If there has been a break-in the police are called and the property is secured. If it is a leak or a heating failure we will get it isolated and let you know what needs doing. Where you have given us permission to arrange an emergency trade, we will do that and you will know what it cost before anybody starts work.
Both. Houses over the summer and at Christmas are the bulk of it, and shops, offices, yards and workshops closed over a shutdown are the other half. A commercial property standing empty for two weeks over Christmas is one of the most likely places in the country to be broken into, and it is the easiest fortnight of the year to cover properly.
For summer and Christmas, as early as you can, because those are the two periods everybody wants and the diary fills. Outside those it is usually straightforward at a few days' notice. Either way it is worth the call, because we would rather fit you in than have you leave the house empty and unwatched.
